Robert J. Berriman, Sr., age 62 of Prescott, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital. Robert lived in Prescott since 1986, and was formerly of Detroit. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and truly enjoyed a cross country trip he took with his wife on his Harley. He was a marksman, a glass blower, and he enjoyed woodworking. He was a Detroit Police Officer from 1971 until his retirement in 1986. He earned many accommodations for bravery in the line of duty and spent time as an undercover officer during his service. Following his retirement from the DPOA he served as an Ogemaw County Probation Officer for family court and recently retired after 15 years of service. Robert is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Diane Berriman of Prescott, his children Sheri (Duane) duChemin of Newaygo, Robert Jr. (JoAnn) Berriman of Poway, CA., Kimberly Berriman of Lubbock, TX., and Alexandria Berriman of Las Vegas, NV., grandchildren, Daniella, Catarina, Christian, and Andres. Also surviving are his brothers Harold (Lorraine) Berriman of Livonia and Thomas (Marie) Berriman of Canton and his sister Selina Berriman of California along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter Shanara Berriman and a brother William Berriman . He also cherished the friendship of many. A strong faith and trust in the Lord carries the family through this difficult time. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. There will not be a visitation.
