Robert Alan Rau

Robert Alan Rau, age 68, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023, at his home in West Branch, MI. He was born on September 13, 1954, in West Branch to Robert C. and Doris (Schneider) Rau. He lived in West Branch his entire life.

Bob graduated from Ogemaw Heights High School in 1972. He worked his entire life on the family farm, Cedar Lane Dairy Farm, in West Branch and eventually was the co-owner with his brother. He retired in January 2023. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus #2022.

Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, and traveling with his wife before she passed. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and taking them to Big Boy, out for ice cream, and fishing.

Bob is survived by his children, Carrie Rau of West Branch, Rob (Lacy) Rau of West Branch and Tony (Lady) Rau of Muskegon, MI; grandsons, Parker, Landon, and Jacob; granddaughter Sofia; siblings Diane (Ron) Bartlett of Sterling, MI, Sue (Randy) Wangler of West Branch, and Mark (Vicki) Rau of West Branch; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by parents and wife Deborah (Adcock) Rau in 2016.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Celebration of Life Mass will be Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Father Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate. Burial of ashes at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in West Branch, luncheon to follow.
