Robert A. Petry

Robert Arlan Petry died May 31, 2008 surrounded by his family in his home inWest Branch, Michigan after a short illness. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 6, 2008 at Holy Family Catholic Church 402 W. Peters Road, West Branch, MI with Father Miro D. Wiese OFM officiating. There will also be funeral services held at St. John Catholic Church 404 N. Dayton St. Davison, Michigan 48423 at 11:00AM on Monday, June 9, 2008 with Father Andrew Czajkowski officiating. Born October 28, 1937, Bob lived most his life in the Flint, Michigan areaworking for General Motors until retirement in 1999. He married Diane Bergslie on October 15, 1960. A Boy Scout leader for 12 years, a member of the Knights of Columbus Davison Council #4090, Holy Family Church Council #8948 and a member of the Men's Work Bee Club of Lake Ogemaw, Bob stayed busy in retirement. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren who were the light of his life. In his spare time he loved remodeling his lake house and fixing things. In 1999, Bob lived his dream by moving with his wife to the lake house in West Branch where he updated and upgraded all his father had done years before. He is survived by his loving wife Diane his son Alan and his family Jennifer, Pierce and Jordan, his daughter Michele Cohee and her family Ryan, Hanna and Ethan, his mother Anna Chop, and sister Mabel Watkins. Also the many special family and friends in his life, godson Michael Watkins, Arnold and Charlene Watkins, John and Judy Metera and Dave and Marilyn Ward. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Hershel and Thelma Petry. Memorials may be made to the family so they can split it equally between Hospice Helping Hands and the West Branch Regional Medical Center Cat Scan Equipment.
