Richard Leslie Inman, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, peacefully at his home in Alger, MI. He was born on March 30, 1936, in Lapeer, MI to Leslie and Kathryn (Pearce) Inman. He lived in Alger for the past 3 years formerly of West Branch and Gladwin.
Richard married Joanne M. Davis on June 30, 1956 in Vassar, MI. She passed away on July 27, 2007.
On December 26, 2009, he married Nancy Clark-Hughey.
Richard was known for his kind and helpful nature. He loved helping people and dedicated his time to various organizations. Richard was a member of Kiwanis and Habitat for Humanity, where he both worked and volunteered. He also volunteered at the Huron Pines Conservation District. Richard was involved in mission work with God's Country Cooperative Parish in the UP and through North Country Cooperative Parish. He was a big supporter of the West Branch Rose City Music Boosters.
Richard was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in West Branch.
In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening (especially flowers), fishing, playing cards, and cherished moments spent with his family. He will be deeply missed by his family.
Richard is survived by his wife, Nancy Inman of Alger, MI; daughter, Cindy (Jim) Gibbs of Gladwin, MI; son, Richard Inman II of Springfield, OH; stepchildren, Eric (Cindy) Clark of Cadillac, MI, Keith (Joyce) Clark of West Branch, Lisa (Bryan) Stein of West Branch, Lorraine (Christopher) Ciummo of Phoenix, AZ, and Alex (Lauren) Clark of Kalkaska, MI; grandchildren, Dean (Grace) Gibbs of Chicago, IL, Carolyn (Andrew) Rousch of Tucson, AZ, Sean (Alyssa) Clark of Dafter, MI, Hannah Clark of Cadillac, John (Jennifer) Leslie of West Branch, Brittany (Johan) Schurer of West Branch, Madison (Eric) McGregor of West Branch, Paul (Autumn) Stein of Kalamazoo, MI, Rob (Ariane) Stein of Kalamazoo, Lizzie (Nick) Garcia of Flushing, MI, Vinnie Ciummo of Phoenix, Luci Ciummo of Phoenix, Zane Howe of Kalkaska, Easton Bellinder of Kalkaska, and Revel Clark of Kalkaska; a multitude of great-grandchildren; siblings, Peggy Tripp of Lapeer, Barbara Crandell of Clarkson, MI, and Judy (Larry) Alchin of Perry, MI; and many nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Joanne.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in West Branch. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation starting at 12:00 p.m.
