Richard Hugh Segar

Richard Hugh Segar, age 89, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at his home in West Branch, MI. He lived in West Branch for the past 34 years, formerly of Birch Run. He was born on July 2, 1931 in Saginaw to Hugh and Viola (Bergey) Segar. Richard was a volunteer fire fighter in Birch Run, supervisor for custodial staff at the Birch Run Schools, and was a Birch Run town councilman for 15 years. Richard also attended the Churchill United Methodist Church in West Branch. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseshoes, and spending time with his family.

Richard is survived by his children, Peggy Munson of Clio, Wesley (Carol) Segar of Bridgeport, and Dawn (Andy) Rewa of Manton; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Alice, son, Larry Kriseler, great granddaughter, Becky Munson, and sister, Ann Beck.

A private funeral service will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch. Burial will be at Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris, MI.
