Richard Campbell Nott, age 92, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018 at his home in Hale, MI. He was born on October 20, 1925 in Port Huron, MI to George and Edna (Campbell) Nott. Dick graduated from Redford Union High School in 1943 later attending Western Michigan College for 2 years. He served in the United States Navy during WWII as a Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class. He married Arline VanEss on May 15, 1948. Dick took over George Nott & Sons Millwork in Redford Twp., which became Richard’s Millwork, a division of George Nott & Sons, in Livonia. He was a life member of the Masonic Temple at the Lola Valley Lodge No. 583 in Redford Twp. He was also a member of Kiwanis Club in Redford, WhoWho Club and Habitat for Humanity in West Branch. He was active with the Hale Senior Center and served as treasurer for the Logan Township Fireboard. Dick was active with the Logan Hills Homeowners Association and in Logan Township. He was a master craftsman and enjoyed furniture making and wood turning.
Dick is survived by his wife, Arline Nott of Hale; children, Richard C. (Keila) Nott of Livonia, Ronald D. (Verna) Nott of Colorado Springs, CO, and Regina E. (Rex) Duncan of White Lake, MI; grandchildren, Jareb (Petra) Nott, Molly R. (Ned) Turner, Matthew R. (Kirstine) Duncan, and Brian R. (Kailey) Duncan; great grandchildren, Joash, Judah, Noah, Jolie, Penelope, Kimberly, Peyton, Joseph, Sophia, Elena, Gwendolyn, Brian, and Soren.
Cremation has taken place and no service is scheduled at this time.
