Richard A. Pavlik, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at his home in West Branch, MI. He was born on July 22, 1941 in Warren, MI to John and Anna (Delinski) Pavlik. Richard graduated from Mio High School in 1960. After graduation, he went onto Meatcutting School and worked at a butcher shop in Mio. He was also employed as a model mold maker for the automotive industy in Detroit, MI and then owned and operated two woodworking/restoration business (The Silver Saw), one in Mio and one in Rose City, MI for 25 years. On June 4, 1983, he married Iris (Balla) Delmotte at the Mio Methodist Church. Richard enjoyed traveling, motorcycles, building projects and restoring cars. He also joined the local car club. Richard had two rescue pets. His cat, Niki, was rescued from the gas station and his basset hound, Scarlett, from the shelter. Scarlet was his constant companion. She not only rode in the car and truck, but also in a custom built cage on the back of the motorcycle.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Iris Pavlik; son, Richard Pavlik Jr; step children, Blaine (Erin) Delmotte and Lisa (Daniel) Elsholz; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and siblings, John Pavlik and Virginia Nixon. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carol Attard.
A memorial service will be held at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Jody Coon will officiate.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial contributions can be made to the Ogemaw Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
