Rev. Karl M. Neff

Reverand Karl M. Neff, age 83 of West Branch, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013 at his home. Karl had lived in West Branch since 1997, formerly of Warren and St. Helen. He retired from Chrysler Corp. in 1985 after 30 years of service. Karl graduated from Concordia Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN in 1988 and was ordained at Hope Lutheran Church in Warren in 1988. He was the first full time pastor of Hope Lutheran Church in St. Helen from 1988 to 1995. He also served in churches in Rogers City, Herron, Hawks and Onaway as an interim pastor. Karl loved music, singing and playing the accordion. Karl is survived by his wife Ellen Neff of West Branch, children Nancy Christensen of Texas, Mark Neff of Fort Wayne, IN and Janet(David) Cain of Phoenix AZ, two grandchildren Anthony Carew of Long Beach CA and Tiffany Carew of Arkansas and his great-grandson William Bryant of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by 2 infant daughters and 3 brothers. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 2-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Faith Lutheran Church in Prescott. Rev. Jon Reusch and Rev. Daniel Jansen will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands of West Branch or Concordia Seminary of Fort Wayne, IN.
