Raymond E. Gildner

Raymond E. Gildner, age 93 of West Branch, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 at his home. Raymond was born in West Branch, the son of Edward and Lavina Gildner. He had lived in West Branch all his life. Raymond was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and M.M.P.A. He loved taking care of cattle and ran his dairy farm since 1935 on Green Road. Raymond enjoyed music, playing guitar and harmonica, playing pool, riding snowmobiles and ATVs, the Detroit Tigers and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Alice (Remilong) Gildner, sons, Richard (Nancy) Gildner, Ed (Kate) Gildner, Dale (Tracy) Gildner and Wayne (Andrea) Gildner all of West Branch and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Raymond was the last surviving member of Ed and Lavina Gildner family with 4 brothers and 2 sisters preceding him. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 3-9 pm with a Rosary at 5:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Deacon Glen Painter will officiate. Burial will follow at Edwards Township Cemetery.
