Raymond Clarence Bragg, age 87, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland with his family by his side. He was born on March 16, 1931 in Flint, MI to Clarence and Caroline (Schaefer) Bragg. He lived in West Branch since 1984, formerly of Burton. Ray married his first wife Kay Frank on February 7, 1953 in Tawas and then married his second wife, Beverly Dibble on April 16, 2016 in West Branch. Ray was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #2022. He worked for General Motors “Chevy in the Hole” for 30 years. He enjoyed the outdoors.
Ray is survived by his wife, Beverly Bragg of Prescott; children, Joseph (Debbie) Bragg of Napoleon, MI, Catherine (Steve) Hutchins of Burton, Carolyn (Rick) Maynard of West Branch, Michael (Sherry) Bragg of Arkansas, Valerie (Anthony) Talhelm of Flint; step children, Gayle (Michael) Wilhelm of White Lake, Patricia Dibble of Washington, and Deborah (Wayne) Miller of Illinois; 15 grandchildren,19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Leonard (Helen) Bragg and Dennis Bragg; and sisters, Mildred Sharrow, Lois Corba, and Elaine (Tom) Coha. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Kay and brothers, Kenneth and Harold, and sister, Geraldine.
Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin Monday, February 11, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a K of C Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Father Patrick Maher will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes, Hospice of Helping Hands in West Branch, American Kidney Foundation or a charity of your choice.
