Randalyn Lee Deetz

Randalyn Lee (Lutsch) Deetz, 77, of St. Helen, Michigan, passed away peacefully in her home on
Thursday afternoon, February 4, 2021, she had a direct flight to heaven to be with her Lord and
Saviour. Born on December 17, 1943, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to William Aiken and Crystal Laura
(Lee) Lutsch; graduated from Birmingham (Seaholm) High School and attended Ferris State
University. On a sunny day on September 21, 1963, she eloped and married the love of her life,
Gerald Deetz, in Ludington, Michigan; they shared 57 years of wedded bliss. She was a bank teller,
homemaker and earned the nickname of “Gracie” as she was not always graceful! Another name
she was more than happy to be known by was “Nani”, as her grandchildren called her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Gerald Deetz; daughter Wendy (Mark) Fox of Rapid City,
MI; grandsons Merritt and Marshall Fox; daughter Karey Forster of Cabot, AR; grandchildren
Sarah Forster (Partner Laura Hardy), great-granddaughter Charleigh Forster; grandson Robert J.
Forster; and brother William Lutsch.

Many family memories were created with adventurous vacations out-of-state and on
snowmobiles, dirt bikes, golf carts, camping, playing cards, planting flowers, making deviled eggs
and many trips together with her Calvary church family. Her sense of humor, quirky songs, and cheerful
nature brightened many lives; her infectious smile and laugh were always there for all to see the
joy within her. She never met a mud puddle, lake, stream or ocean that she couldn’t just wander
into and be happy! She loved animals, the beach, picking up shells along the gulf shore and rocks
she’d find anywhere - once bringing home hundreds of pounds of rocks from the Arizona desert in
the motorhome. You may remember her “fine dining” experiences - “Do you want to see the
butter-fly”, “Pass me a roll” or being hit by a Randi straw-wrapper spit-wad! She always made time for her
husband, children, grandchildren, and friends - talking, listening and attending as many activities
as she could. Randi also enjoyed creating items and giving them away, such as her paintings,
jewelry and sewn gifts; she had a very generous and giving spirit.

As requested by Randi, there will be no service, she wishes to remain in your heart and memory
the way you last visited with her. In her memory, Randi would like you pass on the gift of an
unexpected act of kindness for someone, and always remember to be comfortable with who you
are, hug your family and friends and have a good laugh….her memory will live on……John 3:16 (NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
