Philip Louis Tepatti, age 97, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Gladwin Pines in Gladwin, MI. He was born on November 7, 1926, in Cleveland, OH to James and Lena (Galardi) Tepatti. Philip lived in Houghton Lake, MI since 1986, formerly of Owosso, MI.
Philip led a remarkable life filled with dedication and love for his family. After graduating from Saginaw High School, he bravely served in the WWII Army stationed in Germany. Following his military service, Philip began a long and fulfilling career as a supervisor at Consumers Energy, where he dedicated an impressive 39 years of hard work before retiring.
Outside of his professional life, Philip was known for his warm heart and adventurous spirit. He found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life, indulging in his hobbies of fishing, hunting, and boating. Additionally, Philip cherished the memories made during his annual winter stays in Bradenton, FL for over 25 years and found comfort as a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Houghton Lake, MI.
Philip's memory will forever be treasured by those who knew him. He is survived by his loving son Mark (Diane) Tepatti; grandchildren Tammy (Dominic) Swinciki, Shannon (Tom) Walters, and David Tepatti; four great-grandchildren; and sister Rose Lapprich. Philip also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Clara; brother Jim (Shirley) Tepatti; and brother-in-law Harold Lapprich.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church, 2888 W Houghton Lake Dr, Houghton Lake with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Paul Kruse will officiate. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw.
