Patricia Ann Houghton

Patricia (Pat) Ann Houghton, age 80, passed away peacefully at her home in West Branch, MI surrounded by her family and friends on Thursday, March 16, 2017. She was born on January 3, 1937 in Flint, MI to Raymond B. Stannard and Elaine Ophilea Howe and raised in Detroit, graduating from Cooley High in 1955. On January 12, 1957 Pat married Albert Houghton in Garden City, MI. Pat was an active volunteer all her life in 4H and Girl Scouts. She was a waitress at Forwards and Big Boy in West Branch and continued to work as a waitress in her retirement in Florida. Pat touched many lives and will be sorely missed by all who had contact with her. She was a Real Estate Agent for a time and a member of the Busy Bee Quilters. She enjoyed sewing, camping, ceramics, as well as dune buggying in the woods with her husband. She also loved doing crosswords and spider solitaire. Pat traveled across the United States, including Hawaii. She was proud of her Girl Scout experiences. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader in the 1960’s. Most of all she enjoyed walking in the woods with her grandchildren.

Pat is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Albert Houghton of West Branch; son, Wayne Allen Houghton of West Branch; daughter, Elaine Grace (Steven) Klug of Leesburg, FL; 3 grandsons, Kyle Klug of Rose City, MI, Casey Klug of Colorado Spring, CO, and Tyler Houghton of West Branch; and great granddaughter, Avery Noel Houghton; but loved no less adopted granddaughters, Jessica Lucas Lahar of West Branch and Beth and Anaiyah Davis of FL. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Lorinne (Lori); stepfather, Bill Howe; and brothers, Ricky and Roger (Bud).

A Memorial Service will be held in July 2017.
