Norman D. Fistler Sr.

Norman D. Fistler Sr. age 80, passed away February 25, 2012 at the West Branch Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Norman was born May 31, 1931 in New Haven, MI to Oscar and Frieda Fistler. Norman has been a resident of St. Helen since 1973 previously of Richmond, MI. He was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church, the V.F.W. Post #5680, and the American Legion Post #416 all of St. Helen. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Norman is survived by his wife of 60 years Beverly Fistler of St. Helen, 4 sons Norman (Barbara) Fistler Jr. of St. Helen, Douglas (Sherri) Fistler of Highland, Daniel (Kimberly) Fistler of St. Helen, and Darryl (Debbie) Fistler of St. Helen. He has 15 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings August Fistler of Richmond, Isabel (John) Willing of Almont, Joyce (Robert) Hartway of Richmond, Richard (Virginia) Fistler of Armada and a sister in law Katherine Fistler of New Haven. He is preceded in death by a grandson Christopher Fistler, and 2 brother Marvin (Dorothy) Fistler, and Edward Fistler. Visitation for Norman will begin Tuesday February 28, 2012 from 3-9PM at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen. His funeral will be Wednesday February 29, 2012 at 11:00AM at the Hope Lutheran Church in St. Helen. Pastor Rodney Morrison will officiate with a private burial at the Fairview Cemetery in St. Helen. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Hope Lutheran Church in memory of Norman.
