Nolan Joseph Fournier, age 20, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in Spokane, WA. He was a resident of West Branch, MI for all of his life. Nolan was born on October 16, 1996 in Grayling, MI. He became a high school graduate in 2016. He joined the United States Air Force and graduated first in his class with honors, where he also served on the Honor Guard. Nolan loved sports, especially football. He played for the Ogemaw Browns and then moved on to playing for the Ogemaw Heights Falcons from 2011 – 2014. He was voted Defensive Player of the year in 2014. He loved his teammates and considered them family. Nolan enjoyed weightlifting, working out, being in the military, and the Detroit Lions. Nolan was an artist, writing hundreds of freestyle raps. Everyone loved his smile and he always gave 100% in everything he did.
Nolan is survived by his parents, Andy (Eileen) Fournier of West Branch; siblings, Nathan (Ann) Fournier of Hemlock, MI, Nicole (Peter) Vogelsberg of Sterling Heights, MI, Joshua (Kellie Thorpe) McGregor of West Branch, Noreen (Anthony Baird) Fournier of West Branch, Matthew (Shannon O’Brien) McGregor of West Branch, Nadelle (Thomas Meltz) Fournier of West Branch, Nevin Fournier of Saginaw, MI, Natalie (Tyler Beck) Fournier of West Branch, and Dustin Porter of West Branch; uncles, Michael (Annette) Fournier of West Branch, Ted (Jan) Fournier of Garden City, MI and Bill (Terri) Runge of Belleville, MI; aunts, Anne Hardin of Allen Park, MI, Greta (Ed) Boyer of Spokane, WA, Katherine Marson of Hayward, WI and Sister Marie DeMonfort of Spokane, WA; and 8 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Theodore and Mary Fournier and Robert and Barbara Runge and brother, Nelson Anthony Fournier.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be at the funeral home on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Father Francisco Radecki will officiate. Burial will follow at Edwards Township Cemetery will full military honors.
