Nola M. Fawcett

January 3, 1920 — December 8, 2004

Nola M. Fawcett, age 84 of West Branch passed away at Bortz Health Care in West Branch. Nola was formerly of Flint and was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star-Genesee Chapter #457, having served in many chairs including Worthy Matron. She was also a Past Grand Committee Woman in the Michigan Grand Chapter of the Eastern Star. Nola and her husband Chuck came to the West Branch area in the early 1950's when they built a cottage in the Horseshoe Lake area. They later built a home in the same area and moved permanently. After her husband's death in 1986, Nola moved to West Branch. Nola enjoyed playing bingo at the Senior Center and on several occasions, she would wander off to Mt. Pleasant or Sault Ste. Marie for some other activities. She also enjoyed traveling,and knitting. Nola was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1986. Surviving are two sons--Robert (Laura) Fawcett of DeWitt and James Fawcett of West Branch, her former daughter in law Sandra Fawcett of San Francisco, CA and three grandchildren, Angela of San Francisco, Karra of White Lake and Andrea of Lansing and 2 great-grandchildren. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Saturday December 11, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 P.M. Rev. Mark Miller will officiate with burial following at Damon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Bortz Health Care in West Branch, 445 S. Valley, West Branch, MI 48661.
