Neva C. Gehl, age 89, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City, MI. She lived in West Branch her entire life. Neva was born on June 8, 1931 in Flint to Roy and Irene (Meir) Bragg. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and active with the Ogemaw Senior Center. She also volunteered at the Ogemaw Historical Society. Neva enjoyed gardening, flowers, antiques, horse racing, and painting.
Neva is survived by her husband, Wallace Crawford of West Branch; children, Linda Hastings of West Branch, Gregory (Madonna) Gehl of Rose City, Vickie (Charles) Kline of West Branch, and Jeffrey (Ellen) Gehl of Mason, MI; 9 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Miller, Janet (Thomas) Schmitt, and Karen Hock all of West Branch; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Leon Gehl in March 2006, sister, Norma Schneider, brother, Robert Bragg, and brothers-in-law, Fred Miller, Bill Hock, and Elmer Schneider.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Father Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate.
Visitation will be held with precautions, due to the current pandemic, limiting the number of attendees at a given time.
Memorial contributions can be made to Ogemaw Senior Center.
