Nellie E. Root

Nellie Elnora Root, age 90, of St. Helen, and formerly of the Owosso area, passed away peacefully at her home on November 27, 2009. She was born March 18, 1919, in Pine Run, MI, the daughter of Willard and Luella Woodworth. She was active in the St. Helen Assembly of God Church until later years. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Dale Root, two children, Wayne Root of Decatur, MI, and Judy Root of St. Helen, MI, four grand-children and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grand-children, three brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday December 1, at the Faith Alive Church, 1709 N. St Helen Rd. St Helen. There will be a viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday November 30, also at the Faith Alive church. Pastor Tim LeVere will be officiating. Burial will take place at the Fairview Cemetery in St. Helen. Arrangements are being handled by Steuernol and McLaren Funeral Homes.
