Naomi Pauline Furtney, age 90, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at the Grayling Mercy Hospital in Grayling, MI. Naomi was a resident of St. Helen since 1988 formerly of Romeo and Sterling Heights, MI. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary post 416 of St. Helen. She was the former owner of Mr. F’s Beef and Bourbon in Sterling Heights for over 30 years, she also owned a chain of Furtney drug stores in the Pontiac area. Naomi is survived by her grandson- Richard T. Furtney and great-grandson- Jacob Furtney both of Sterling Heights; daughter-in-law -Sherry Furtney-Niedowicz of Prudenville; sister- Shirley Niedowicz of St. Helen and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Thomas Furtney and sisters- Ruth Jean Church, Ann Fisk and Catherine Ross. Visitation for Naomi will be held Friday, July 20, 2007 from 2-9 PM at the Steuernol and McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen. The Funeral will be Saturday July 21, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in St. Helen. Pastor Ken Peterson will officiate.
