Myrtes L. Smith

Myrtes Leona Smith, age 91, passed away Friday July 9, 2010 at her home in St. Helen, Michigan. Mrs. Smith has been a resident of St. Helen, MI since 1992 and previously from Warren, MI. Myrtes had many hobbies during her life which kept her busy; some of which include her flower gardens, raising chickens and ducks, selling chicken eggs, bowling, spending time with family and especially spoiling her grand children and great grandchildren. Surviving family include her 4 sons John (Connie) Kleinhelter of Loganville, GA; William Brewer of Wickliffe, KY; Alton (Patricia) Coulter of St. Helen, MI. and Wendell “Dell” Garrett of Attica, MI. She has 17 grandchildren and 20 great grand children. She also had 3 siblings, Paul (Gail) Murray of Tucson, AZ; Mae Gentile of Westland, MI; and Marie Vandecar of Belleville, MI. Visitation for Myrtes will be held at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen Friday, July 16, 2010 from 2-9PM. Her funeral will be held at the funeral home on Saturday July 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Pastor John Belasco will officiate. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in St. Helen, MI. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Humane Society.
