Myrna Jane McCormick

Myrna McCormick, beloved matriarch of her family, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in Hale, MI at the age of 88. Born June 21, 1936, to John and Claudia Schmieg in Detroit, MI and raised with younger brother Glenn there.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl (James) Lyttle and son, John (Karen) McCormick; her grandchildren, Samantha (Steven) Samuels, Christopher (Megan) Lyttle and Sarah McCormick and her 5 cherished great-grandchildren.

Myrna had a wonderful life with her late husband, Roy McCormick, filled with adventures and joy. She proudly earned her teaching degree from Wayne State University while raising her family and actively supporting her husband's successful construction business. A true force of nature, she was proud to have owned and operated a bulldozer, hunted her own deer, and held a lifelong membership with the NRA. Myrna loved sharing her passions for dogs, the great outdoors, the lake, reading, and art with her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later time.
