Michael Ray Hyde

Michael Ray Hyde, age 59 of West Branch, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at his home. Mike was born December 28, 1957 to Cecil and Doris Hyde in West Branch. He married Joyce Marie Awrey on August 19, 1978 in West Branch. Mike lived in West Branch all of his life. He owned Hyde’s Butcher Block and in 1986 started Mike’s Workshop. Mike was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Black Powder Shooting Club. He was an Awana Leader at Calvary Baptist Church and an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts. Mike enjoyed dressing up and doing reenactments with the shooting club, deer and squirrel hunting, and woodworking.

Mike is survived by his wife, Joyce Hyde of West Branch, sons, Michael Ray (Yena) Hyde of West Branch, Scott Kenneth (Sara) Hyde of Milan, MI, Brad Aaron (Emily) Hyde of West Branch, mother, Doris Hyde of West Branch, and sister, Susan (Majid) Ansari of Portage, MI. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Addison, Alaina, Aaron, Austin, Liam, Brady, Ellie, Hazel, and Roxanne. He is preceded in death by father, Cecil Kenneth Hyde and brother, Cecil Kenneth Hyde Jr.

Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 6-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11:00 am with visitation starting at 10:00 am until time of service. Pastor Tom Teall will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Baptist Cemetery.
