May L. Schumaker, age 78, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016 in Port Charlotte, FL. She lived in Alger, MI, formerly of Royal Oak, MI. May was born on May 22, 1938 in Pontiac, MI to Clark and Hazel (Honeywell) Nixon. She was a member of the Skidway Moose Lodge. She was a homemaker and loved to travel.

May is survived by her children, David (Cathie) Schumaker of Ferndale, MI, Jeff (Lynn) Schumaker of North Branch, MI, Steve Schumaker of North Branch, MI, Julie Garrison of West Branch, MI and Dale (Tammy) Schumaker of Fairhaven, MI; longtime boyfriend, Jack Laffey of North Port, FL; sister, Lenore Schuck of Royal Oak, MI; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Schumaker, and son, Mark Schumaker.

A private funeral service has been held.
