Maxine Winifred Burch

Maxine Winifred (Dyer) Burch, age 89, of Alger passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Hurley Medical Center in Flint. She was born on March 11, 1929 in Pontiac, MI to John Henry Dyer and Vera Elizabeth (Fletcher) Dyer. Maxine graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in nursing then worked at Harper Grace Hospital in Detroit and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac.

She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Eugene Burch and the loving mother to four daughters Susan (Allan) Eberle of West Branch, Patricia (Tom) Martin of Alger, Margaret Sartell (Clint Owens) (Brian Oshita) of Montrose and Gloria Burch of Alger. Loving grandmother to Kristen (John) Nicholson, Michael (Tisha) Eberle, Kyle Martin, Joseph Kitchen, Kyle Kitchen and the late Justin Flesher. She adored her six beautiful great grandchildren, Lukas, Alexis, Kalley, Brooke, Trevor and Caitlyn. She was also a loving "sissy" sister to Glenna Henderson of Alger and beloved sister-in-law and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Maxine was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Prescott a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #370 in Alger and Red Hat Society. She enjoyed bowling, spending time with her family, extended family and friends.

She was a kind and gentle spirit with a great sense of humor and strength we all admired. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

The funeral service will be at Faith Lutheran Church, 5315 Henderson Lake Rd., Prescott on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mills Township Cemetery. Pastor Fred Cordts will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family.
