Maxine P. Wilson, age 93, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at her home in St. Helen, MI. She had lived in St. Helen since 1972, formerly of Hazel Park, MI. Maxine was born on March 6, 1924 in Atlanta, MI to William and Albertha (Brown) Thompson. She worked in the factories during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #416 in St. Helen. Maxine was a Boy Scout Leader and enjoyed reading, crocheting, flowers, and doing word search puzzles. She was an aunt and great aunt many times over.
Maxine is survived by her children, Phyllis (Ronald) Tommas, Arnold Wilson, and Debra (Harold) Reno all of St. Helen; grandchildren, Sherry (Paul) Kulik, Cindy (Gary) Zehnder, Jodi Tommas, Shannon Reno, Stacie Miller and Nathan (Jody) Wilson; and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Wilson; parents, William and Albertha; siblings, Ralph (Margie) Thompson, Althea (Harry) Seeger, Joyce (Luther) Kern and Betty Thompson; daughter in law, Pam Wilson; and great grandchildren, Emily, Ashleigh and Jack Kulik.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
