Maxine P. Whitman

Maxine P. Whitman, age 87, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in Houghton Lake, MI. She was born on April 13, 1931 in Grand Blanc to Norman and Mary (Morrison) McLeod. Maxine lived in St. Helen since 1976, formerly of Grand Blanc. She was a member of the Lake St. Helen Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the organ, making homemade quilts and crocheting. She helped start the We Care Shop in St Helen.

Maxine is survived by her sons, Danny Whitman of Bellevue, NE and David Whitman of St. Helen; grandchildren, Dean, Mandy, Danny Patrick, Craig, Chad, and Jeremy; her 12 great grandchildren, and her 4 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Emma, and Peggy; husband, Delmar; daughters, Lucinda Whitman and Diane Angel; grandchildren, Michael and Megan Angel.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Lake St. Helen Baptist Church at 12:30 p.m. Pastor Roger Green will officiate.
