Matthew James Artman

Matthew James Artman, age 58, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in West Branch, MI. He lived in West Branch, MI for most of his life. Matthew was born on April 14, 1966 to John and Billie (Lindfors) Artman in West Branch. 

He was so loved by many, possessing a unique skill for carpentry, taught to him by his father, whom he admired greatly. Matthew enjoyed golfing, bowling, cooking, socializing, and the outdoors. He had a meticulous touch to everything he did whether it was cleaning, working, or creating new projects.

Matthew graduated from Ogemaw Heights High School in 1984 and furthered his education at Ferris State University where he pursued a degree in business and finance.

Above all, Matthew was anchored by the love of his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted mother Billie Artman, who cherished him deeply throughout his life. Matthew is also survived by his brother Frank Curtis (Renee) Artman, sister Kelly (Kevin) Nicholl, nieces and nephews, Elizabeth (Alex) Nicholl-Bushway, Shannon Nicholl, Sean Nicholl, and Nathan Woletz.

Though he is preceded in death by his father, John Frank Artman; Matthew’s laugh and kindhearted sprit will continue to resonate with his family and friends.

A private family service will be held.
