Mary Williams

Mary Williams, age 98, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Villa in West Branch. She had lived in West Branch since 1983 when she moved here from Miami, Florida with her husband Clarence. Mary was born on June 11, 1918 to George and Frances (Szemredy) Avram in Ogemaw County and was the 5th of 8 children. She enjoyed boating and deep sea fishing with her husband while they were in Florida and later in life she enjoyed cooking, reading her Bible and visiting with family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings Anna Nimeth, George Avram Jr., John Avram, Peter Avram, Joseph Avram, Margaret Bristle and Helen Matthews. Mary is survived by nieces and nephews too numerous to mention from all over the country and she loved every one of them like they were her own children.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Alger Cemetery. John Munn will officiate.

Memorial contributions can be made to The Villa at West Branch where she spent the last month of her life and was treated like family.
