Mary S. Behrend

Mary S. Behrend, age 52 of West Branch, passed away at her home on June 15, 2005. She had lived in West Branch since 1971, formerly of Fenton. Mary was a registered nurse for 20 years. She was instrumental in bringing the handicapped riding program to Northern Michigan. She enjoyed horses, fishing, reading, jazzercise and she was active in 4-H. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mary is survived by her husband, Dr. Terry Behrend of West Branch, her sons--Terry Jr.(Kelly) Hodges of West Branch and Jared Hodges of Kirksville, MO, stepsons--Terry (Andrea) Behrend of San Diego, CA and George (Sonali) Behrend of Canton, 6 grandchildren, Terry III and Taylor Hodges and Jack, Jason, Maya and Monica Behrend, her mother, Sue Tillman of Gladwin, sister, Diana Day of Louisville, KY and brother, David (Jody) Beam of Gladwin. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Day and her brother, Tim Day. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Saturday June 18, 2005 at 2:30 P.M. until the time of the service at 5:00 P.M. Pastor Paul Klassen will officiate with burial following at Edwards Township Cemetery, West Branch. Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
