Mary Lynne Fritz, a long-time resident of the Bay City Area, died Sunday, November 20, 2016 in her home. Born Mary Lynne Peckham, at Cadillac Mercy Hospital in Cadillac, Michigan on Monday, November 9th, 1942, weighing in at 8 pounds and one ounce. After Graduating from Lake City High School in Lake City, Michigan, Mary went on to graduate as a flight attendant at Central Technical Institute in Kansas City.
Mary’s brother Bob came home from basic training with his new friend and fellow 101st Air-borne paratrooper Douglas Louis Fritz. Mary was gorgeous, Douglas handsome, they fell in love and married May 2nd, 1964. Doug became a pipe liner, welder and ultimately the supervisor of the pipeline, they had three beautiful, noisy and delightful daughters, moving from Pinconning to the Upper Peninsula and settling in Bay City in 1980. Mary was the first Treasurer and later became the President of Mobile Meals. Mary also Volunteered for the American Lung Association and the March of Dimes. Much of her time, along with the volunteer work was spent visiting her grandchildren and at their cabin on Sage Lake.
Mary is being greeted in Heaven by her parents Robert and Lola Peckham, Her sister Dawn Bishop, Her brother Robert Bryan Peckham Jr., Brother in Law Bill Bowers, Mother in Law, Margaret Brown, and Brother in Law, Jack Fritz.
Mary is survived by her husband, Douglas Louis Fritz, three daughters; Kelly (Scott) Hewitt, Stacey (Richard) Peacock, and Amanda (Chris) Sawdon. Eight wonderful grandchildren; Douglas, Tylor, Joseph, Matthew, Victoria, Thomas, Stella and Jack. Siblings; Terrance (Rebecca) Peckham, Marsha Bowers, Janis (Bill) Dietrich, and Gregory Peckham; and Sister in Law Donna (Linus) Stanley. Along with MANY Nieces, Nephews and a multitude of friends.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, MI will begin on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Rev. Tim Dibble will officiate. Final Resting place will be McBain, Michigan.
