Mary Louise King, age 86, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at The Brook in West Branch surrounded by her loving family. She lived in West Branch since 1987, formerly of Birmingham and Grand Blanc areas. Mary was born on December 25, 1934 in Birmingham, MI to Frank and Marjorie (Haven) VanFleteren.
Mary was a longtime member of the Questers Club Restoration and Preservation Society. She worked as a secretary at the Ogemaw County Probate Court and sold Real Estate for Century 21 in West Branch. Mary was an antique dealer for many years and enjoyed quilting, seamstress work, cooking and was a wonderful hostess. She owned rentals and did her own repairs.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Raymond King of West Branch; children, Laura (Pat) Hanlon of West Branch, Allen (Kathy) Morris of West Branch, and John (Jody) Morris of West Branch; step-children, David (Fran) King of Lake City, Debby (Rick) Westcott of West Branch, and Kathy (Paul) Holmes of Gaylord; grandchildren, Brandi, Mica, Mary Jo, Katy, Collette, Ryan, Kyle, Ellen, Christopher, Elizabeth, Molly, Maggy, Trina, Ashlee, and Alex; 23 great grandchildren; nephews, Mike and Ken VanFleteren. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Henry Morris, brother, Warren “Van” VanFleteren.
A celebration of life memorial visitation will be held at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Visitation will be held with precautions, due to the current pandemic, limiting the number of attendees at a given time.
