Mary Louise Justice, age 93, wife of the late Leroy Justice, passed away Friday July 27, 2012 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Mary had lived in West Branch since 1980, formerly of Detroit. Mary worked as a Secretary in the Recorders Court-Appeals Department in Detroit. During WWII, she was “Rosie the Riveter” and a Civil Defense Air Raid Warden. She was instrumental in building up the inventory of large print books at the West Branch District Library. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and she enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles and reading. Mary is survived by her children, Sheldon (Kathy) Justice of West Branch, Louanne Stewart of Lexington, KY, Sylvia (John) Klimas of South Lyon, Christine (Steve) Whitney of Webberville and Marilyn Justice of Howell, her grandchildren, Kim (Jim) Pigeon, Kevin (Corinna) Justice, Scott (Carrie) Justice, Craig Monte, Jeff Klimas, Rebecca (Mike) Dennis and Veronica Justice, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Julie Monte, her brother Henry Coucke and her sister Florence Mayes. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Monday, July 30, 2012 from 3-9 p.m. On Tuesday, Mary will lie in state at St. Joseph Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Patrick Maher will officiate with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands or to the West Branch District Library.
