Mary Lou Prusik, age 84, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 at The Lighthouse in Roscommon, MI. She had lived in St. Helen since 1995, formerly of Port Sanilac, MI. Mary Lou was born on May 1, 1933 in Port Sanilac to Leo and Evelyn (Matthews) Schommer. On September 1, 1951 she married George Prusik. Mary Lou was a member of the St. Helen Catholic Church and the Catholic Council of Women. She enjoyed crafting, traveling and was a woman of faith.

Mary Lou is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, George Prusik of St. Helen, MI; children, Greg (Marianne) Prusik of Hessel, MI, Julie (Bill) Schafer of Duvall, WA, Paula (Dennis) Pack of Shelton, WA, Grace Prusik of Lakeland, FL, Joe (Janet) Prusik of Port Huron, MI and John Prusik of St. Helen, MI; grandchildren, Will, Andrew, Vicki, Mary, Ashley, and Joshua; 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Dennis (Patti) Schommer of Port Sanilac, MI, Gerald (Barbara) Schommer of Carsonville, MI, Larry (Cindy) Schommer of Port Sanilac, , Rodney (Mary) Schommer of Carsonville, MI, and Beth Ann (Del) Hardison of Port Sanilac, MI. She is preceded in death by her parents and great granddaughter, Cadence Melby.

Cremation has taken place and interment of ashes will be at Fairview Cemetery in St. Helen, MI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Catholic Relief Services.
