Mary Jo Walters

Mary Jo Walters, age 77, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Bay Special Care Facility in Bay City, MI. She was born on March 3, 1941 in Bay City to Raymond and Lollie (Foster) Smith. Mary has lived in Prescott, MI since 1990, formerly of Bay City. She married Charles E. Walters on October 9, 1959 in Bay City. She was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Church in Bay City and enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mary loved going to thrift stores and never missed a Wednesday at the St. Vincent DePaul Thrift in West Branch.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Charles Walters of Prescott; children, Charles R. (Natalie) Walters of Pinconning, Norman Walters of Ann Arbor, Karen (Gary) Jozwiak of Kawkawlin, and Wendy (Clay) Matthews of Oak Park; grandchildren, Alexandria, Neil, Brittany, Alyssa, Arianna, Charley, Jacob, Abigail and Caleb; great grandchild, Gleeson; siblings, Raymond (Mary) Smith, Roger (Sue) Smith, Cheryl Diane (Tom) West, and Linda (Tim) Hanlon; and brother in law, Perry Clancy. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Kathy Clancy.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in West Branch. Matt W. Place will officiate.
