Marlene June Hatchew

Marlene "Marty" June Hatchew, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2023, at the age of 88, in West Branch, Michigan. Marlene was born on June 28, 1935, in Muskegon, Michigan, to the late Mose and Berniece (Rogers) Bordeau. She has lived in West Branch since 2021, previously of Gladwin and Goodrich.

Marlene was a creative individual who loved crafting and ceramics. She also enjoyed playing Euchre and was known for her skills as a pool shark. During the summers, Marlene cherished her time at Bass Lake in Hale. She was a member of the Secord Lake Eagles and an auxiliary member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Marlene was a devoted homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family. She is survived by her children: Don R. (Kim) Hatchew, Gerald M. Hatchew, Michael J. (Audrey) Hatchew, and Susan L. Temple. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Marlene is also survived by her brother, Edwin Bordeau, and sister, Carol Bordeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Don W. Hatchew in August 2006, and her brother Harold Bordeau.

Visitation for Marlene will be held at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 2-8 PM. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 1:00 PM at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Flint, Michigan.
