Marlene Cecile Booms

Marlene Cecile Booms, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at her home in Lupton, MI with her loving family by her side. She was born on January 16, 1937 in Gagetown, MI to Clement and Helen (Menzel) Hool. Marlene lived in Lupton since 2005, formerly of Warren, MI. On October 6, 1956 she married Irvin Booms in Vassar, MI. She was a bus driver for Fitzgerald Schools in Warren for 12 years. Marlene was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in West Branch, Catholic Council of Women and Daughter of Isabella. She enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, traveling, dancing and going out to parties.

Marlene is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Irvin Booms of Lupton; children, Randall Booms, David Booms, Kevin (Kathleen) Booms, Doreen Myslakowski and Jason (Stacey) Booms; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; sister, Judith (Ronald) Strauss; sisters-in-law, Agnes Hool, Alicia Hool, Leona Mausolf and Marlene Mausolf; brothers-in-law, Harold (Clara) Booms and Leo Booms; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Todd Booms; granddaughter, Danielle Myslakowski; siblings, Evelyn Borodychuk, Kenneth Hool, Howard Hool, Carl Hool, Lawrence Hool, Beverly Shimetz, William Hool, Francis Hool and Floyd Hool; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Cecilia Booms; sisters-in-law, Lucille Niemi, Stella Lemanski, Lauretta Gusa, and Doloris McLain; and brothers-in-law, Lavern Booms and Jerome Booms.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City will begin on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass at Holy Family Catholic Church will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Father Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate. Burial will be at Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester Hills, MI on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
