Marie Lila Bennett

Mrs. Bennett, age 89, passed away at her home. She had lived in West Branch since 1938, formerly of Dearborn. She owned and operated Bennett's Party Store for 15 years at the corner of M-30 and Greenwood Road. She was a member of the Ogemaw County Bowling Hall of Fame. She is survived by her children, John Bennett of West Branch, Geraldine (James) Illig of West Branch, Kenneth (Judy) Bennett of Linwood and Judy (Rick) Stillwagon of West Branch. She is also survived by a brother William Marshall of Colorado, and sisters Margaret (Pat) Dalsandro of Holly, Verna Hughes of Oscoda and Joy Ann (Robert) Burham of Hudson, Florida, 54 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy Bennett, son Leo Bennett, granddaughter Linda Danneberg, grandson Tommy Noel, great-grandson Christian Noel, brother Earl Marshall, and sisters Rosie Halterman, Katherine Lockwood and Hazel Cummings. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin Monday March 17, 2003 from 2-9 P.M. The funeral service will be on Tuesday March 18, 2003 at 1:30 P.M. at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home. Pastor Dr. Sterling DeMond will officate with burial following at Edwards Township Cemetery.
