Alger, MI

Lynne Denise Chantiny, age 67, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 17, 2024, in Alger, MI. She was born on June 23, 1957, in Midland, MI, to Carl and Arleith (Richardson) Ames. She lived in Alger since 2019 formerly of Midland.

On February 7, 1981, she married Terry Chantiny in Midland.

Lynne's life was woven together with creativity and passion. As a dedicated member of the Eagles Secord Lake, she embraced the joys of community and connection, becoming a cherished friend to many. Her hands were never idle; they were always busy creating beauty through arts and crafts, china painting, stained glass, scrapbooking, sewing, quilting, and pottery. Lynne’s artistic talents brought joy not only to herself but also to those fortunate enough to receive her handmade treasures.

Camping held a special place in Lynne’s heart—she reveled in nature’s beauty, enjoying the great outdoors surrounded by family and friends. Her laughter and warmth were as abundant as the summer sun, leaving an indelible mark on countless memories shared around campfires under starry skies. Lynne also enjoyed spending time boating, cooking, and at family gatherings.

Lynne held various jobs but enjoyed working as a compositor at Pendell Printing in Midland and as a consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics.

Above all, Lynne cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, Terry Chantiny, and her loving daughter Stephanie (Tyson) Craig and son Jason (Tara) Chantiny. Her pride and joy flourished with the arrival of her grandchildren, Zerah and Eleanore, who brought endless delight into her life. Lynne also leaves behind her brother, Terry (Sandra) Ames, and her nephew, Eric Ames, along with many cousins who held a special place in her heart.

Preceding her in death are her beloved parents, brothers Mark and Dexter, and nephew Carl “Tad”.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements were handled by Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, MI. www.steuernolmclaren.com
