Lynette Jean Mulkey, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at her home in West Branch, MI surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on November 18, 1934 in West Branch to Lynn and Georgina (Richardson) Smith. Lynette lived in West Branch her entire life.
Lynette graduated from West Branch High School in 1952 and was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in West Branch. She worked as an Ogemaw County Magistrate for over 30 years, retiring seven years ago. She was on bowling leagues at the Hi-Skore Lanes and bowled on the Clear Lake Bar, Culligan Water, and Ehinger Shoes teams. She was part of the 300/600 series. Lynette enjoyed traveling, reading, sporting events, being a MSU fan, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Lynette is survived by her children, Angela Ann (Donald) Burrill of St. Helen, Robert (Jamie) Mulkey of St. Helen, and Michael (Amy) Mulkey of St. Clair Shores; grandchildren, Madison, Tyler, Trever, and Joe; brother, Robert (Margo) Smith of West Branch; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bobby.
Visitation will begin at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery. Priest Mary Jane Shortt will officiate.
