Lorraine E. Wallgren

Lorraine Esther Wallgren (Yeadon) passed away at the Special Care Hospital in Bay City, MI on October 5, 2011. Lorraine was born in Ayr, N.D. on September 1, 1918 to Edward and Lucie Moug Yeadon. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Eva and Edward and also her dear husband Carl E. Wallgren. The Yeadon family moved to Detroit in 1925 where Lorraine met and married the love of her life, Carl on July 3, 1937. Together they raised their family – Lorraine worked for several years at J.L. Hudson Co., Carl at Detroit Edison. Retiring and relocating in Lupton, MI where they renovated and became proprietors of Wallgren’s Country Store and Restaurant. They were active in the community and members of the Friends Lupton Church. In 1977 Lorraine was installed as Worthy Matron, Eastern Star at the Rose City Chapter #452. Lorraine and Carl served as Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron together -1977-1978, Rose City Chapter #452. After Carl’s death in 1993, Lorraine moved to Grand Rapids, MI and her final years resided with daughter Nickoleen in West Branch, MI. She recently celebrated her 93rd birthday with family and friends. Survivors are brother, Keith (Bob) Yeadon (Mary Lou), 3 daughters Carleen (James) Schnieder, Janet (Karl) Swanson and Nickoleen Short and her cousin Lavonne Carlson of Fargo, N.D. and many distant relatives. She will be dearly missed by her loving family-her special 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and so many others. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Lisa Cook will officiate with burial following at Lane Heights Cemetery, Lupton.
