Lorna Norine Bunting

L. Norine Bunting age 93 of West Branch passed away Sunday May 16, 2010 at the Ingham County Medical Care Facility in Okemos. She was born February 21, 1917 in Grand River Iowa to Axel and Ellnora (Carrel) Hanson. She married Nile Bunting February 2, 1941 in Osceola, Iowa three weeks after their first date. The marriage lasted 55 years until his death in 1996. They moved to the West Branch, MI area in 1944 where she was a loving wife and mother, a great cook, an avid bird-watcher, a member of the First United Methodist Church and ran a restaurant for several years. Norine was preceded in death by a son Ramon Bunting and a brother, Raymond Gailard Hanson. Surviving are her sons Roland (Sharon) and Terry Bunting, grandchildren, Matthew, Paul, Wayne and Heather Bunting, Melissa Stader and Michelle Tadavich, step-grandchildren Mark and Matthew Davis, Miriam Birdshead, William Mathews and Shawn Kelli Hethorn and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 1-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in West Branch. Rev. Mary Lynch will officiate with burial following at Brookside Cemetery, West Branch. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be sent to the First United Methodist Church, West Branch.
