Lois E. Sugden

December 10, 1937 — May 11, 2005

Lois E. Sugden, age 67, left her earthly family and friends, with her daughters arms around her, to go live in her heavenly home. She was lifted up by love and prayers from all who loved her. Lois worked for many years at St. Helen Pharmacy and Rite Aid, where she had lots of friends. She was pampered and dearly loved by her husband Jay. Lois loved every minute she could get to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking them for ice cream and to garage sales for treasures to take home. She loved to tease them and make them laugh. She enjoyed crafts, flower arranging, painting and showing her grandchildren how to do them with her. She looked forward to her calls from the family, but only if Judge Judy wasn’t on. She looked forward to the 4th of July. With all of her family, Lois was truly blessed. Surviving family members include her loving husband of 43 years, Jay Sugden of St. Helen, her daughters, Gail Bush of St. Louis and her sons, Luke and Peter, Gloria (Michael) Snyder of Caro and their children, Michael, Cortney (Paul) Thompson, Zack, Crystal, Carley, Casey, Glory and Chance and her great-grandchildren, Emily Snyder, Gunnar and Makayla Thompson and Raegan Snyder. Also surviving are her stepchildren, Jerry Sugden of Cass City and his children, Ann and Marie, Linda Howard of Cass City and her children, Kristie and Steven, her two brothers, Ray Surbrook of Cass City and Rev. Mark (Linda) Surbrook of Hamburg, NY, her three sisters, Evelyn (Wayne) Whittaker of Cass City, Sharyn (Ron) Perry of Overland Park, KS and Eleanor (Earl) Dietzel of Caro, her two half-brothers, Chester LaTocha of Ortonville and Elmer (Sally) LaTocha of Levering, her half sister, Cecelia (Frank) March of Akron OH and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon Whittaker, her mother, Edith Surbrook , her father, Rev. Lewis Surbrook and her baby brother, Dean Lee Surbrook. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 28, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ellington Nazarene Church on M-81 east of Caro. Rev. Mark Surbrook will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family.
