Lewis "Louie" Junior Vanmeter

Lewis “Louie” Junior VanMeter, age 71, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, MI. Louie has lived in St. Helen since 1960, formerly of Flint, MI. He was born to Lewis and Helen (Cheadle) VanMeter in Logan, OH on July 17, 1942. Louie married Beverly Jean on March 19, 1980 in Minnesota. Louie was a member of the St. Helen Snow Packers and a Mason with the Masonic. He owned and operated Lou’s Unlimited in St. Helen for over 20 years. Louie enjoyed dune buggy riding, boating, hunting and traveling especially to Tennessee to unwind. Louie is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Beverly VanMeter of St. Helen, MI; daughters: Media and Melissa of Davison, MI; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; daughter in law: Shannon VanMeter of Davison, MI; and many other in laws and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Lewis VanMeter, who recently passed away this month. Visitation will be at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen, MI on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 beginning at 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Rodney Morrison will officiate. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Lewis’s name, or to the family.
