Lewis "Lou" E. Cox

Lewis Eugene Cox, age 63, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Lou has lived in St. Helen since 1967, formerly of Flint, MI. He was born to Altus and Rose (Carpentier) Cox on July 4, 1950 in Flint, MI. Lou married Carol Jean McDermand on January 28, 1972 in St. Helen, MI. Lou enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. Lou is survived by his loving wife, Carol of St. Helen, MI; children: Steven McDermand of Fostoria, OH, Victoria Schroeder of Twining, MI, Virginia Molands of Troy, MI, Teresa Parker of AL, Roberta Cox of St. Helen, MI, Robert Mead Jr of Midland, MI, Cathy Mead of Midland, MI, Sheila (Rob) Englehardt of St. Helen, MI; 23 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; sister: Laura (Al) Fisher of Birch Run, MI; and brother: Steve Cox of MT. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Frank and Daniel Cox. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will be Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 4- 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. High Priest Ed White will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family.
