LeRoy W. Liebzeit, age 92, passed away Friday, May 11, 2007 at West Branch Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. LeRoy lived in West Branch since 1993, formerly of Lewiston, Michigan. He married the former Irma L. Kaatz on June 26, 1937 in New Haven, Michigan. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, was a past-president of the Lewiston Lions Club, L.F.A. and chaired the building committee for constructing the Lutheran school in New Haven in 1959. LeRoy was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. He was an avid reader, enjoyed fishing and crossword puzzles. Surviving family members include his wife of 70 years, Irma; daughter Pat (Joe) Bertossi of West Branch and sons Jim (Bettie) Liebzeit of Tripoli, Libya and Ed (Carole) Liebzeit of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and one sister Aletha Gabler of Mt. Clemens. Preceding LeRoy in death was one granddaughter Suzanne Liebzeit, two great-grandchildren Aaron and Alexis Bertossi and one sister Lucille Bowman. Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Sunday, May 13, 2007 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Paul Ruediger will officiate. Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery in West Branch. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
