Leonard Keith Meir, age 68, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland, MI. He was born on October 20, 1952 in West Branch to Clarence and Correan (Clemens) Meir. Lenny lived in the West Branch/Rose City area his entire life. He graduated from Ogemaw Heights High School in 1971. After graduation, he started driving truck for his father delivering fuel oil. He then worked at Taylor Door for over 25 years. Lenny loved to watch high school sports and enjoyed cutting wood, bowling and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed visiting with friends at his favorite food plot, Macs Place. Lenny was always willing to give a helping hand and he helped others as a donor for Gift of Life.
Lenny is survived by his brothers, David (Denise) Meir of Flint, Clayton (Debbie) Meir of West Branch and Thomas (Sharon) Meir of West Branch; sisters, Geraldine (David) Wakefield of Rose City and Flora Nichols of Bancroft, MI; adopted brother, Mike (Roz) Heideman; and many, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bernard Meir, sister-in-law, Leah Meir and brother-in-law, James Nichols.
Visitation will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. and will be a PRIVATE family service, by invite. However, the public will be welcome to watch a live stream broadcast of the service on his obituary page on the funeral home website. Burial will be at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. Pastor Jeremy Meir will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family.
