Mikolaiczik, Mr. Leo J., St. Helen Michigan. Former Saginaw Resident. Passed away Wednesday December 29, 2010 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Age 82 years. Leo was born May 28, 1928 to Alex and Anna B. (Gaertner) Mikolaiczik. He married Phyllis Ann Fedder, his loving wife of 60 years, on May 20, 1950 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Zilwaukee, Michigan. She survives him. Leo was a long time resident of Saginaw and had lived in St. Helen since 1991. He served in the National Guard from 1948 to 1951 and was a member of American Legion Post #416 in St. Helen. Leo co-founded and developed the Twin Oaks Golf Course in Freeland in 1964 with Richard Maurer and John Sieggreen. He owned and operated the Mikolaiczik Farm in Kochville Township for many years. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and the Optimist Club both of Saginaw, St. Helen Catholic Church in St. Helen, Michigan, the Knights of Columbus Council #8390, the Ogemaw Hills Snowmobile Club and the St. Helen Snow Packers. He enjoyed casino trips, playing euchre, snowmobiling and his Kubota. Leo is survived by his wife Phyllis of St. Helen; children Kevin Mikolaiczik of Saginaw; Kimberly Bauer-Mikolaiczik of Ann Arbor; and his granddaughter Claire Bauer of Ann Arbor; also surviving is his sister, Frances Wideman of Saginaw; his brothers, Norman (Loretta) Mikolaiczik of Auburn; Dale (Jean) Mikolaiczik of Saginaw; many nieces and nephews. Leo was preceded in death by his brothers, Ferd and Gladys Mikolaiczik, Ralph and Mary Ann Mikolaiczik, Louis and Monica Mikolaiczik and his brother-in-law, Earl Wideman. He will be greatly missed by his loving dog, Precious. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home, 702 N. St. Helen Road in St. Helen, Michigan on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2011 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Rd., (between Lawndale and Hospital Roads). Rev. Fr. James Carlson will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery where military honors will be provided by American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. and at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. There will be a Vigil Service 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
