Lenhart Gabel, age 82, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 in Gladwin, MI. Lenhart has lived in Gladwin since 1976, formerly from Allen Park, MI. He was born to William and Alice (Ryba) Gabel on May 28, 1932 in Detroit, MI. Lenhart was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, K of C 4th Degree, VFW West Branch, and West Branch Creative Arts Association. He also served in the Navy during the Korean War. Lenhart enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping and bowling. Lenhart is survived by his daughters: Dawn (Louie) Sciarrotta of Colorado Springs, CO, Suzanne (Steven) Goralski of Wyandotte, MI, Tracey (Darryl) Blessing of Wyandotte, MI; sons: David (Christine) Gabel of Southgate, MI, William (Linda) Gabel of Gladwin, MI, Joel (Marcela) Gabel of Gladwin, MI, Lenhart Gabel of Bonneau, SC, Eric (Tamara) Gabel of New Port Richie, FL; 20 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; siblings: Raymond (Margaret) Gabel of Dearborn Heights, MI, Francis Gabel of Brooklyn, MI, Charles (Yvonne) Gabel of Wyandotte, MI; sister in law, Gail Varga of Harper Woods, MI, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Geraldine. Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will be Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:00 p.m. On Friday, Lenhart will lie in state at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Mass at 11:00 a.m. Father Patrick Maher will officiate. A Memorial will also be held at the Wyandotte Boat Club on Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 3pm - 8pm. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family or the VFW of West Branch.
