Lawrence Lowell Teal

July 29, 1948 — May 30, 2024

West Branch, MI

Lawrence Lowell Teal “Larry”, 75, of West Branch, MI formerly of Imlay City and Dryden, MI entered eternal rest on May 30, 2024, at his home in West Branch, surrounded by his loved ones.

Larry was born in Denver, CO on July 29,1948 to Edward Francis Teal Jr.”Eddie” and Lillie Mae Newbold. Larry started working for A & P in Imlay City in 1965, graduating Imlay City High School in 1966, and taking a pause when drafted in the United States Army. He was stationed in Bamberg Germany from 1968-1970 where he married Christine Marie Kalena "Chris", “The girl across the alley that asked him to dance”. The two went on many dates in his 1966 Candy Apple Red Mustang, the rest is history. Larry and Chris were united in marriage on December 5, 1969, in Bamberg, Germany. The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Nuremberg, Germany.  When Larry came home, he began to work again for A & P, staying with the company as it changed to Farmer Jack, and then Kroger, where he retired after 48 years. Larry became a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in 1989.

Larry loved motorcycling, auto body repair and airbrushing, boating, waterskiing, fishing, and recording and collecting movies. Chris would jokingly call the video camera "the black growth on his shoulder"! Because of him, the family has a wonderful home movie collection to reminisce on. After retirement, he enjoyed being at Van Etten Lake in Oscoda where he spent time with his family and friends, sitting at the campfire, drinking beer, or home in West Branch watching birds and wildlife.

Larry is survived by his wife, Chris, of West Branch; his children: Crysta A Heart (Robert Reale) of Lansing, MI and Timothy “Tim” (Rebecca) of Brown City, MI; 4 grandchildren Cody Ryan Teal (Sarah), Samantha Teal (Jon), Kim Deming (Ryan) and Cody James Wilcox; 4 great grandchildren Ivan, Aletia, Aubrey and Amelia; 1 brother James Arthur Teal (Betty); 2 sisters Doris Teal, Judy Hunt (Don); 6 sisters in law Pat Teal, Linda Teal, Diane Teal, Julie Teal, Geraldine Newbold, and Mary (Ron) Stevens; 1 aunt, Lois JoAnne Newbold Curtis Bamberga, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
