Lawrence R. Gillman, age 82, passed away January 23, 2006 at Bay Special Care of Bay City. He was a resident of Lupton Michigan, Ogemaw County for over forty years. Larry was born in Bay City, MI on September 10, 1923 to Richard and Harriet (Sills) Gillman. He was a WWII Veteran having seen duty in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #3775 of West Branch. He was a building contractor for over 50 years. Larry had an avid interest in the automobile, having owned and sold many over his lifetime. Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, the former Carol Trepkowski and his four children, Bobbie (Fred) Engel of West Branch, MI, Terrie Skinner of Virginia Beach, VA, Ric Gillman of Lupton, MI and Larry (JoAnn) Gillman II of Prudenville, MI, 10 grandchildren, Merrie, P.J., K.J., Janet, Jeannie, Freddie, Scott, Alicia, Erica and Ashley, three great-grandchildren, Courtney, David and Lauren, his sister in law, Roberta Kowalski and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves to mourn his loss his buddy and constant companion of 16 years "Tootie". Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2006, 2:30 P.M. at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch with Rev. Dan Stoneback officiating. A Veterans Memorial service will take place. Visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Expressions of sympathy may be made to memorials of donors choice. The family wishes to thank Bay Med, Bay Care and the Drs. who cared for him in his final days. A very special Thank You to Dr. Ted Bash for the many years of care and concern you gave to Larry.
